Born Gangstaz is debut album released by rapper Boss. It was released on July 26, 1992 through Def Jam Recordings' Western based sub-label Def Jam West and featured production from some of hip hop's top producers, including Def Jef, Erick Sermon and Jam Master Jay. Born Gangstaz was a huge success, peaking at #22 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and spawning the hit singles "Recipe of a Hoe" and "Deeper", both of which made it to #1 on the Hot Rap Singles chart. An additional single "Progress of Elimination" was also released but failed to chart. Despite the success of this album, Boss has yet to release another album. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Born Gangstaz has sold 378,000 copies to date
