Nature Mart Closed - The End of An Era & My Favorite Yerba Maté

I got a rude awakening yesterday after going out of my way to get my favorite Yerba Maté drink, something seemed amiss. First there was the usual no parking but when a lady came out of the store she stood there for several minutes holding her bag and then took FOREVER to put the small bag in the trunk of her car, open her car doors and drive away. Seriously, I felt myself screaming because all the other spaces were full, there was another car waiting to get into the parking lot and she was going beyond slow motion. Then when she finally started and then stopped and restarted her car, it took her several minutes to get the hell out of the way. It took me two seconds to park once she was gone and as I happily went

through the door, I saw empty bins and a line of people waiting to be served.
I asked the girl at the counter if she was the only one working and she said she was. I was shocked because there were normally three people behind the counter helping people with wheat grass and the like. More delays and a weird explanation about fake twenty dollar bills and then I saw the flyer that announced Nature Mart was closing after 37 years. That explained why the lady was going in slow motion. She must have been in shock as I was. Nature Mart made the best Yerba Matte I have ever had. They called it the "Super Man". It had Yerba Matte, lemon and ginger. It was so good. I would drive out of my way to get it. Even though Whole Foods tries to make it, it is never the same or as good. So another goodbye to a small shop that served the community. Thank You Nature Mart, you will be Missed.

After performing in Atlanta for the Watch the Throne tour Kanye West was photographed partying it up with actress and fashion goddess Tracee Ellis Ross. The two were extremely comfortable and close with each other....as in couple close. Which would be fine except for the fact that Ross is dating Bu Thiam, Def Jam executive and Akon's brother. To make matters worse Bu was present that night. Hmmmmmmm.......
I mean Tracee and Kanye would make the cutest most fashionable couple in town, but I'm not sure if tracee is the type of woman who would flaunt her other boo in Bu's face.

Kerry Washington Shooting New TV Show Scandal

Lovely actress Kerry Washington seen on location shooting a new series called "Scandal" in Los Angeles. The new series is now in post production. Looking forward to seeing Ms. Washington starring in the show.

Chaz Bono Finally Voted Off Dancing WIth The Stars

As I said earlier on my twitter, Chaz Bono should go. Dancing With The Stars is a DANCE COMPETITION not a nepotism feast. But alas life is not fair when one becomes an adult one realizes that fairy tales aren't true and are used as sedatives to keep you moving and believing in life. I wonder if the ratings will spike now that Chaz Bono has left the dance floor? There were many outraged fans of the show that said they were protesting by not tuning in. In fact the numbers for DWTS have dropped. But something tells me that the closer it gets to the Mirror Ball finals, the ratings will be back to a higher point. That being said the look on Lacey Schwimmer's face lately showed the tension and the sadness of a teacher whose pupil wasn't measuring up.

Schwimmer did the best that she could but she realized that she had done all she could. As a fan of dancers and of the show, I know how hard it is to learn the dances and perform them in front of an audience. It takes courage, talent, memory and a bit of luck. As for the show, Chaz Bono's luck may have run out but he used Dancing With The Stars for his platform and in some regards it worked. His LBGT agenda was out where everyone could see it. I wish however that Chaz chose a more opportune time to do the show. If he would have waited to do the show when he was stronger and in better shape, Bono probably could have done more complicated steps and actually lifts which would have been a more dazzling display of his "manhood". "Walking/Dancing Like A Man" is more complicated than just skipping on the dancefloor.

Happy Birthday to Ciara

Singer/model Ciara turns 26 today. There is no confirmation of what the songstress has done or will do to celebrate, but a close friend did tweet a picture of Cici and her bestie Kim K celebrating, although Taletela.com says that the picture may actually be an old picture.

Ciara was also spotted in the Halloween spirit at an event where she was dressed as a glamorous vampire.

The Ultimate Sacrifice: Mother Refuses Chemo Treatment to Save Unborn Child

This story just touched my heart and I had to share............

Stacie Crimm gave her child more than life. She gave up her own life so that her baby could live.
According to MSNBC.com Stacie was diagnosed with head and neck cancer shortly after she found out she was pregnant with the baby that she thought she would never be able to conceive. She had a chance for survival if she agreed to chemotherapy treatments that would put the baby that she was carrying in great harm. Stacie sacrificed her only chance at survival to give her daughter Dottie Mae life, even though she would not be alive to see her grow up. Stacie tried her hardest to hold on for her daughter. but the cancer took control. Stacie was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in her home and doctors performed a C-Section was performed to save Dottie Mae's life. Dottie Mae was born 10-weeks premature and weighed only 2 pounds. Stacie was able to hold her daughter momentarily but soon after giving birth to her baby girl, she slipped into a coma and died three days later. Dottia Mae will live with Stacie's brother and his wife as Stacie wished.
